This paper collage artwork features the Portland Street IGA Food Market back in 1967 at 159 Portland in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I worked from a photo found in the Halifax Municipal Archives (HMA Retrieval Code: 101-80C-2-8-N-62) and the result is very different from my usual colourful approach. I hope when people are looking at this piece they get lost in the store windows and imagine what it would have been like to shop here so many years ago.
